Oil paint on canvas, 2013.
Finished this painting a couple days back, but just got around to getting some photos of it today! If you have seen my Instagram, you may have seen a preview of this already. This one is sort of reminiscent of the first oil painting I ever painted back in 2009 for art IB.. which i’ll bring back from the dead, here:

All black. Again. (My favorite!)
Pulled this belt out from the back of my closet when doing a bit of cleaning! Its actually my belt that I wore for horse shows a couple years back when I used to do horse jumping competitions! I loved the pattern and color of it though, so i’m super glad it still fits (as a waist belt - no hope in wearing it as a regular belt anymore, unless i’m an 8 year old twig).
Interesting side fact: if you look closely enough, you can see a hint of a scar on my back that happened last year. Oh, I loved the dorms (thanks detachable ladders!).

Last memories of the super long and ombred hair. Chopped the ends off since this photo! I did really love the lightened tips of my hair before though, so I did end up slightly ombreing the new haircut as well. Going to wait for my hair to grow out a bit more, and I may lighten the tips once more again!
Spent one of my last days back in Calgary with some of my favorite people. Went for some Thai food on 17th, and followed up with coffee. Then I (finally) got to check out the Peace Bridge. Can’t believe I haven’t gone to see it before! The lights and everything are spectacular at night. The wind picked up when we were there though, so it was absolutely freezing. I’ll have to make a point to go back there sometime when its warmer.
But on that note, Calgary really has been too cold (or i’m just a weakling now… hmm). Blankets have been my best friends recently. I guess this is it telling me that its time to head south again.
Back in Peoria in a couple days! Here’s to hoping I still have enough time to keep up with blogging frequently while back at school.
